The overall plan for demolition and construction involves the neighborhoods of Capehart and Bicentennial. In Capehart, 315 existing homes will be demolished and 108 new homes will be constructed. These three and four bedroom homes will range in size from 1860 to 2920 gross square feet and feature such amenities as two and a half baths, fully equipped and modern kitchens, central heat and air, garages, ample closet space and modern functional floor plans. The new construction process has begun. In Phase II there are 28 units in progress. 6 of the new units have roofs, MPE, and the rest of the roof installation is projected to start in late February. In Phase 1B all units are up and roofed. Drywall is to start in late February. Interior finishes have already begun as well. Be on the lookout for a ribbon cutting to be planned soon! A new state-of-the-art Community Center will also be built in this neighborhood.
At Bicentennial, 80 homes have been demolished and 50 new homes will be constructed. These three and four bedroom homes will range in size from 1630 to 1950 gross square feet and feature such amenities as two and a half baths, fully equipped and modern kitchens, central heat and air, garages, ample closet space and modern functional floor plans. Work is expected to begin April 2007.
